Private house at dusk with open carport and lit interiors
Case study · Private residence

One house, two lives

A full set for a private brick-and-tile home — the arrival at dusk, the garden in summer light, and the rooms that connect them.

Challenge & approach

The challenge

Three things had to hold

  • Two very different faces. A traditional approach at the front, a contemporary garden elevation at the back — both had to feel like the same house.
  • Material honesty. Brick bond, tile hanging and oak framing carry the value here. Approximate them and the price stops being believable.
  • Light that sells. Dusk flatters a facade but hides a garden. Daylight shows the garden but flattens the brick.

The approach

One world, two hours of the day

  • Two lighting conditions, one grade. The approach was shot at dusk, the garden at golden hour — then graded together so the set reads as one continuous day.
  • Detail as evidence. Close views of the planting, lighting and terrace do the work a wide shot cannot: they prove the specification.
  • Interiors that match. The rooms were lit to the same hour as the garden, so moving from outside to inside feels like walking through, not clicking between.
